About your host, Gerald
My lovely Dominican wife introduced me to this island paradise and now we wish to share this experience with you! We have done a bit of traveling and what we really enjoy is traveling with our brothers and sisters. My wife grew up in the fertile mountainous region of the Dominican Republic and later moved to New York and worked as a school teacher until her retirement. She now is a regular pioneer in the Bronx. I grew up in California. After serving in Bethel I stayed in New York where I met my wife. I am an elder in the congregation. We are residents of the Dominican Republic.

What we'll do
My wife and I are looking forward to personally being with you on every step of this fantastic journey in the Dominican Republic!
To start off, you be greeted at the airport in Santiago and we will travel to the mountain city of Jarabacoa to have dinner in a super cool Dominican restaurant! After that we will travel to the base camp at the ranger station. The next morning we will have breakfast and then begin our journey. The mountain men, our guides, will be making traditional meals. The scenic views are incredible! In late afternoon, we arrive in the gorgeous valley of Tetero, you will understand why it is known as the most beautiful valley in the entire island! After 3 days of trekking/exploring/swimming/stargazing, we will then pack things up to descend the mountain with new friends and many fond memories. You might even be making plans for your return trip! At the base of the mountain, some will be travelling back to the airport, others will be meeting friends and family on the island, while others will be starting off on their next adventure in the amazing Dominican Republic! From the host
none
For this trip a person must be physically fit (but not an Olympic athlete!). If a person has a medical issue that would make an unsafe condition for them if they were to hike all day through rugged terrain, then it would be wise to select another vacation on this wonderful island. There are many things to do and see that aren't this strenuous. -
